Work experience success

We are incredibly proud to say that many of our learners on vocational pathways have secured work experience placements in areas they are passionate about and talented in.

Clare’s people skills, customer service and enthusiasm are key to her role at Derby Theatre, while Luke’s natural flair for hairdressing and his confidence are making his placement at Alla Moda Hair and Beauty a success.  Zak’s patience, eye for detail and organisational skills are being put to great use at Alvaston Library and Dan’s expertise in meeting and greeting and his warm personality are essential to his role at the Play and Recycle Centre.

Everyone working within our College believes it is important for young people to get to know individuals and groups within their local area to create long-term support networks so we work hard to link up learners, people in their circle of support and members of their local community … because together we achieve more!

All of these placements are personal to each learner and are not only building on their existing skills and the development of new ones, but are creating important links in their local community.
