Reflexology and Functional Reflex Therapy

At Transition 2, we have a bank of Sessional Tutors who provide a range of specialist vocational learning opportunities.  Here is an introduction to the support our Sessional Tutor Seema offers our learners.

My name is Seema Ghai and I am a qualified Reflexologist.  I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AOR) and Professional Reflexology (PR).  I am also registered with the Complementary and National Healthcare Council (CNHC) which is the UK regulator for complementary practitioners.  As well as reflexology I also do Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candling and Aromatherapy massage of the lower legs and feet.

I am also a Foot Health Practitioner and am able to deal with most common foot problems such as callous, corns, and nail problems.
I have been working with the learners at Transition 2 since March 2014.  Initially I began by giving reflexology treatments to individual learners, but since September 2014 I have also been working as a Learning Assistant delivering classes in areas such as, simple massage techniques, healthy eating, and general foot care.
I have recently undertaken a course in Functional Reflex Therapy which is a structured relaxation routine designed for children and adults with autism, autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, neurological impairment, challenging behaviours and complex health needs.  The primary intention of this positive touch therapy is to provide ‘relaxation in the moment.’
